Public courts are the cheapest way to play pickleball in the region, and we list seven of them. Singapore has three: Sengkang Sport Centre and ActiveSG Courts @ Farrer Park, both ActiveSG venues booked through MyActiveSG+, and The Kallang Hard Courts beside the National Stadium. Hong Kong has Kai Tak Sports Park, with 9 courts on a covered outdoor hard court, Bangkok has Benchakitti Sports Center, Hanoi has the Cau Giay Pickleball Complex and Chiang Mai has Chiang Mai Pickleball Club in Hai Ya.
Prices are low. Benchakitti Sports Center in Benjakitti Forest Park is free, with 10 covered courts run by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. In Singapore, off-peak rates for citizens and PRs are S$3.50 per court per hour at Sengkang, S$4.50 at Farrer Park and S$5.50 at Kallang. Chiang Mai Pickleball Club asks ฿20 a day after a free first visit, Cau Giay starts from VND 100,000 per court per hour and Kai Tak Sports Park charges HK$250 off-peak.
Public courts tend to offer fewer extras than private clubs, so bring your own paddle unless the venue hires them out, as Kai Tak and Chiang Mai Pickleball Club do. Popular slots can be booked out days in advance, so reserve early through the relevant booking system, and on outdoor courts play early or late in the day to avoid the heat.
